"Mint" is an exceptional broodmare that is sired by former National Champion, Nobleman TOF. Her dam was the now deceased great producing mare, Moxie NTF. Mint, who was bred and owned by Bob and Bea Wallace of Meadowlane Farm in Hemlock, Michigan, has a winning legacy. She was the winner of her GLHA Futurity classes as a weanling, yearling and then again as a two-year old!
Beginning at the age of four years, this exceptional moving mare was bred to our 2-time AHR 'National Champion Stallion' and 4-time AHR 'Stallion of the year', Arno van het Nieshof. Together they have produced four fantastic fillies:
- Mint Edition MLF
- Mint Tradition MLF
- Mint Jubilee MLF
- Mint Celebration of Genesis
Mint Julep and Arno have also produced one outstanding colt,
- Antourage of Genesis.
Although the Mint Julep x Arno crosses have proven to produce exceptional offspring that carry on the Futurity winning genetics and merits of their sire and dam, we couldn't resist playing with the genetics for 2010. For a 2010 foal, Mint was bred to Windstar van de Ooste, our up-and-coming young imported stallion. Mint's 6th offspring, and her first from any sire other than Arno himself, was another high quality filly that we named 'Mint Sensation of Genesis'. This filly placed 3rd in her very competitive 'Junior Weanling Filly' class at her showring debut at the 2010 AHR Futurity (second place in the class went to her pasture-mate, 'Aura of Genesis').
Mint was not re-bred in 2010 to allow her a much deserved vacation from raising foals. In the meantime, her 6 total offspring will continue their winning traditions in the showring and their domination of the yearly futurities for Genesis Farm and/or their current owners.
Only time will tell as to which potent bloodline cross we will make for a 2012 foal from our prized Mint Julep!
